The Dunstable Public Library will be open this summer! They have a whole list of events and are kicking off their summer reading program with curbside pick-up! On June 8th, 9th and 10th, swing by the Dunstable library to pick-up a reading bag and summer reading supplies. Read more about it here.
The Groton Public Library is also offering some summer fun! Check out their kick-off event here! Do you like dogs? Do you like watching dogs do tricks? Do you like reading about dogs? Do you like reading about dogs who read and do tricks at the same time? Okay.... I made that last one up.... but it's still cool. You might not want to miss this event!
SORA (part of the Overdrive), is offering many titles as simultaneous checkouts this summer. That means, you don't have to wait for someone else to return select ebooks before you borrow them! Students should be able to access SORA through Classlink or the link posted here. If you have never logged in before, it may take a minute to set-up, but it's easier the second time. These are FREE ebooks and audiobooks for children and adults. Yes, please!
Epic Books is having a Summer Special! This website is full of ebooks with vibrant illustrations. Most children will be familiar with Epic as many classrooms use this during the school year. Unlike many ebooks from library services, there is no waiting for materials. When you find a book you are interested in, you can read it right when you find it! The summer special allows you to get three months for the price of one! Act fast, you need to sign-up by June 17th to get this offer.
Booksellers Barnes and Noble is running their summer program again, too! Any child in grade 1-6 can pick out a free book after they read any 8 books this summer. There is a short reading journal to record the titles of the books you read. Please find out more about this program here.
A great place to check for things to do, reading or otherwise is Boston Central! The page is easy to search and activities are broken up by town, event, age, and interest. Why use Google when so many resources have been collected for you already?
